| 产品描述： | The synthesis of Recombinant S.pneumoniae serotype 4 ply protein began with the isolation of ply gene from the native genome. The next step was to amplify the ply gene by inserting the ply gene into an expression vector and then introducing the vector into the selected host cell, Baculovirus. Significant amounts of recombinant S.pneumoniae serotype 4 ply protein were produced by the host only when expression genes were added. For the purpose of protein purification, the vector contains N-terminal 10xHis tag & C-terminal Myc tag to the ply DNA sequence. The purity of this protein is 90%+ determined by SDS-PAGE. |

| 功能： | A cholesterol-dependent toxin that causes cytolysis by forming pores in cholesterol containing host membranes. After binding to target membranes, the protein undergoes a major conformation change, leading to its insertion in the host membrane and formation of an oligomeric pore complex. Cholesterol is required for binding to host membranes, membrane insertion and pore formation; cholesterol binding is mediated by a Thr-Leu pair in the C-terminus. Can be reversibly inactivated by oxidation. |
