Comments:
Related to MHV-3, Nelsons PR 1 (MHV-2), JHM, Morris agents EHF120 and M747 and MHV-A59 of Manaker, et al. Produces little evidence of infection in otherwise healthy weanling mice.
This virus is fairly stable when lyophilized and stored at 4C. Such lyophilized seed preparations should not be used directly for experiments. Mice infected with MHV-1 AND Eperythrozoon coccoides develop fatal hepatitis.
