The ATP10 gene product is 30.3 kDa and appears to be required for the assembly of the F1-F0 ATPase. atp10 mutations decrease the rutamycin sensitivity of the ATPase.
The ATP10 sequences are contained in a 2.2 kb SmaI/BglII fragment which contains some sequences from the vector. This fragment also contains 2 other open reading frames.
