Target Gene: alpha-1-antitrypsin (protease inhibitor)
Media: ATCC® Medium 1245: YEPD
Biosafety Level: 1

Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Comments:
Strain E18 transformed with pFATPOT
Production of site specific alpha-1-antitrypsin
The POT1 sequence can be removed from pFATPOT by a SalI/BamHI double digest as a fragment of approximately 1.6 kb.
The wild-type alpha-1-antitrypsin gene can be removed by a BamHI/XbaI double digest.
The alpha-1-antitrypsin gene is under the regulation of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae TPI promoter, and is followed by the Saccharomyces cerevisiae TPI terminator.
The vector contains a pMB1 and 2 micron replicon.
