A discrepancy among the laboratory characteristics of each culture was noted; G. Gauze examined each ATCC preparation and selected TS207857 as the one which agreed most closely with the original description of Actinomyces albovinaceus; i.E., only 15823 still produces a red-brown, soluble pigment.
