Biosafety Level: 1

Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Applications:
The antibody binds to an epitope in amino acids 126 through 191 on human ApoE.
Storage Conditions: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Derivation:
Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human apolipoprotein E (ApoE)
Cellular Products:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against human apolipoprotein E (ApoE)
Tumorigenic: Yes
Effects:
Yes, forms ascites in pristane primed BALB/c mice
Comments:
Animals were immunized with the major protein peak (G-200 fractionation) of delipidated human high density lipoprotein (HDL).
Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells.
The antibody binds to an epitope in amino acids 126 through 191 on human ApoE.
It can block ApoE mediated binding of lipoproteins to the the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor.
Complete Growth Medium: Dulbeccos modified Eagles medium with 4.5 g/L glucose, 0.1 mM non-essential amino acids and 1 mM sodium pyruvate, 85%; horse serum, 10%; fetal bovine serum, 5%
Subculturing: Cultures can be established by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 x 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cell density between 105 and 106 viable cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Two to three times weekly
Cryopreservation:

Complete growth medium described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO.xa0 Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X.

Culture Conditions:
Temperature: 37°C
Atmosphere: Air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%
Isotype: IgG1
Name of Depositor: G Schonfeld
Deposited As: mouse (B cell); mouse (myeloma)
