Derivation:
GA-10 (Clone 4) is a subclone of the GA-10 (ATCC CRL-2392) cell line derived by culturing the parental line on a feeder layer.

GA-10 was derived in 1996 from lymphoma cells circulating in the peripheral blood of a patient with a clinically aggressive, chemo-refractory Burkitts Lymphoma.

Antigen Expression:
CD77 + (90%)
Comments: The patient had been treated unsuccessfully with cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunomycin, vincristine, and prednisone (CHOP chemotherapy).xa0

This clone of cells also appears to express high levels of CD77 (approximately 90%); CD77 is also known as Burkitts lymphoma antigen (BLA).xa0

GA-10 (Clone-4) cells exhibit sensitivity to Shiga Toxin (Stx) in toxicity studies.

Complete Growth Medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, ATCC 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (ATCC 30-2020) to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing: Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh Medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 5 x 105 viable cells/mL.xa0 Maintain cultures at a cell concentration between 5 x 105 and 2 x 106 cells/mL. Do not allow the cell concentration to exceed 2 x 106 cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days

Complete culture medium, 95%, described above supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO.xa0Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC Catalog No. 4-X.
