Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Disease: lymphoma
Strain: C57BL/6
Storage Conditions: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Genes Expressed:
interleukin-2 (interleukin 2, IL-2)
Cellular Products:
interleukin-2 (interleukin 2, IL-2)
Comments:
This is a subline of EL4 (ATCC TIB-39) that produces IL-2 in response to phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA).
The line is capable of producing 2500 units/ml of IL-2 after 24 hours in culture with PMA.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Complete Growth Medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbeccos Modified Eagles Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: horse serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing:
Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 to 2 X 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cell density between 1 to 2 X 106 viable cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation:
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Culture Conditions:
Temperature: 37°C
Name of Depositor: JJ Farrar
Deposited As: Mus musculus
