Organism: Mus musculus (B cell); Mus musculus (myeloma), mouse (B cell); mouse (myeloma)
Cell Type: hybridoma: B lymphocyte
Product Format: frozen
Morphology: lymphoblast
Culture Properties: suspension, suspension
Biosafety Level: 1

Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country.

Disease: Insulinoma
Applications:
The antibody reacts with an acetylated ganglioside common to pancreatic islet cells, neurons, adrenal medulla, thyroid follicle renal glomerulus, human T lymphocytes and a majority of cells in the pituitary.
The antibody reacts with an O-acetylated disialoganglioside present on a wide variety of endocrine and neuronal tissues.
The 3G5 antigen is expressed on microvascular pericyte plasma membranes, and is useful as a marker of pericytes in vitro.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Storage Conditions: liquid nitrogen vapor temperature
Derivation:
Spleen cells were fused with myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed:
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against a ganglioside associated with endocrine cells (pancreatic islet, adrenal medulla, pituitary, thyroid), human T lymphocytes and neuronal cells,Increasing expression of the 3G5 reactive ganglioside correlates with increasing degree of differentiation of rat insulinoma cells (RIN5F).
Cellular Products:
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against a ganglioside associated with endocrine cells (pancreatic islet, adrenal medulla, pituitary, thyroid), human T lymphocytes and neuronal cells
Comments:
Animals were immunized with fetal rat brain.
Spleen cells were fused with myeloma cells.
In addition, the antibody recognizes an antigen on human T lymphocytes that defines a subset of T cells that increases with age.
Increasing expression of the 3G5 reactive ganglioside correlates with increasing degree of differentiation of rat insulinoma cells (RIN5F).
The 3G5 antigen is expressed on microvascular pericyte plasma membranes, and is useful as a marker of pericytes in vitro.
