Infectivity stable at 50°C for 30 minutes (partially inactivated at 60°C for 1 hour).
The GB agent is distinct from hepatitis A and B. The GB isolate may have two components (GB-A & GB-B).
It is different from the MS-1, reference hepatitis A strain. Originally believed to be a human hepatitis.
The vial contains acute phase serum from tamarin monkeys infected with the virus

Enzymatic and histologically typical viral hepatitis

Saguinus mystax (moustached tamarin)
