CAVEAT: by favoring selective growth, suboptimal culture of cytokine-dependent cell lines may promote outgrowth of factor-independent subclones. Selective conditions include cytokine insufficiency and inadequate cell density. Thus the DSMZ cannot guarantee indefinite stability of factor-dependence of cell lines. |
