Origin : established in 1984 at diagnosis from the peripheral blood of a 33-year-old man with acute myeloid (eosinophilic) leukemia (AML) following hypereosinophilic syndrome; we found that EOL-1 carries a KMT2A (MLL) partial tandem duplication; described in the literature to carry the fusion FIP1L1-PDGFRA. Subculture : seed out at ca. 0.5 x 106 cells/ml; start culture with 20% FBS; maintain at 0.5-2.0 x 106 cells/ml; split 1:2 to 1:3 every 3-4 days
Incubation : at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time : ca. 60 hours
