Subculture : seed out at ca. 0.5 x 106 cells/ml in 12- or 24-well-plates; maintain at ca. 0.3-0.6 x 106 cells/ml; split saturated culture 1:3 to 1:4 every 3-5 days; cells grow better in plates than flasks, though viabilities rarely exceed 90%
Incubation : at 37 °C with 5% CO2
Doubling time : ca. 40-80 hours
Harvest : maximum density at ca. 1.5 x 106 cells/ml
Storage : frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO
