CRMOX positive; Esc and Sal negative after 24 h; no plasmid found; autoagglutination test negative; rough colonies. Quality control strain according to DIN 58959-7 and 58959-9 (6924), Quality control strain according to DIN 58959-7 and 58959-9 (16730). Biotype 1. According to literature (7666) this specific strain is described as biotype 1A. However, American origin, 16S rRNA sequence and biochemical features (no esculin hydrolyses and no acid production from salicin within 48h) group the strain into biotype 1B. No plasmid detected at DSMZ. (Medium 215, 30°C or Medium 535, 30°C or Medium 693, 30°C). Rehydrate and grow lyophilized cells from the ampoule in 5 ml liquid broth. Subsequent subculturing may be carried out in liquid medium or on agar plates. |
